Prayer – The Great Kingdom Technology

There is a technology that the Master Designer has given us to shift our circumstances, to counter the effects of darkness, to change our lives and to transform our world. It is strategic in nature, direct, effective, and is guaranteed to get the job done when appropriately administered. No other technology by far, has the capacity and the potency to alter the very course of our lives, of our destinies and of our unborn generations like that of prayer. It was designed to accomplish all these things and then some, but it must be activated and utilized purposefully, deliberately and with precision.

The Master Strategist Himself, The Lord Jesus Christ, demonstrated this truth during His time on earth and still does in eternity, as our Manual for Living indicates that He forever lives to make intercession on behalf of the saints, according to the will of God. He was a man given to prayer and He did so extensively. It was His utilization of this tool that made Him so effective in fulfilling His purpose in the earth.

If we do not pray, absolutely nothing happens! Why is this the case you might ask? Simple. The earth is the domain in which man was placed to rule and have dominion. Human beings are the only legal authority in the earth. When our Master Manufacturer made us, as detailed in our Manual in Genesis 1:27-28, He gave us the power and authority to dominate and take control of the earth which He created. We are responsible for everything that goes down on this planet; the good, the bad, the ugly, the indifferent.

I often hear people complain that if there is a God, why do all these bad things happen. Well, there is a God, and everything that happens on the earth falls under our jurisdiction. Now, whether we choose to exercise our legal authority to do right or wrong, to make the planet a better place or not, to positively or negatively impact other people’s lives, is completely left to us. We are the authority here. Whatever we permit, God permits and whatever we disallow and declare to be illegal in the earth, God comes into agreement with that as well. Because God has given earth to man and has established by law that this is so, hence the purpose and the need for prayer. What then is prayer? It is man giving the Master Manufacturer the legal rights to come into man’s domain to impact it with His will, which, by the way, is always right, righteous and just.

Prayer authorizes God to intervene in our affairs and to bring about the changes that we so desperately need. Let’s face it, there are some things that man is incapable of accomplishing. There are some circumstances that will arise in our lives and in our world that we need something else, a greater force, a greater intelligence outside of ourselves to address, to counter and to correct. When we have come to the end of ourselves, when we come to the end of our own intellectual capacities and our own abilities, when we have exhausted every man-made technology there is, we are going to need an external Source who is capable of changing the game in our favor. When the doctors have given up hope and the best of medicines has run its course; when you have tried everything and yet you continue to fail; when you have come to the end of all your options but the problem still persists; when peace seems elusive; when your money cannot buy what you need, prayer is the tool that invites a Source greater than you to intervene in your affairs.

If prayer is an exercise that seems elusive, if you are having a hard time knowing what to pray, or if you simply have not been experiencing the results you are looking for, here are a few principles to bear in mind:

1. Prepare Properly – by first evaluating where you stand in relation to your Master Manufacturer. If you have been violating the standards established by Him, you must confess it (sins). He will not hear you if you harbor un-confessed sins. Praise and worship sets the atmosphere and welcomes the presence of the Holy Spirit Who brings answers to your prayers, and having the Manual for Living on hand provides you with the instructions, wisdom and direction He will reveal.

2. Assume the Proper Position and Posture – by recognizing that your authority and power comes through The Lord Jesus Christ. You are in Him and He is seated in heavenly places above all the forces of darkness (principalities and powers). That automatically places you above them as well and knowing and understanding this truth should boost your confidence. Be bold, be armed, and be ready to approach the Master Manufacturer in faith and lose sight of your fears and frustrations. Fervently come into agreement with Him concerning His will for your life and pray accordingly.

Like anything else, prayer works when you attentively and diligently give yourself to its process. The more you give yourself to it the more of its benefits you will begin to experience and that, my friend, is great news!
