The iconic ICAWN Women Empowerment Conference and Expo has come and gone! The event marked the second of what for sure will be an ongoing affair for the rapidly expanding women’s organization- International Creative Arts Women’s Network, formerly the CCWC Network and Women’s Club. This year’s conference, spearheaded by Founder and Chief Executive Officer Corhinn Brunot and Chief Operating Officer Karine Melissa, was housed at the beautiful Sofitel Miami Luxury Hotel in Miami, Florida. Women from diverse business backgrounds came out in droves to this summit to hear other women leaders in their own rights share traits of their business’ success. Guest speakers included Christina Duren, Founder of Beautiful Brown Girls and yours truly, Georgia A. Bryce. Our Keynote Speaker was none other than Leanna Archer, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Leanna’s Inc.

The speakers all delivered and executed on point. I had the awesome opportunity to represent my Father’s brand, Building According To Pattern, LLC, as I challenged the women to make the bold step of shifting their perspective concerning what it truly means to be “stuck”. As I worked to deconstruct and reconstruct the concept itself, my sisters were delighted to discover that being stuck was very much a part of the growth dynamic to their businesses; an event that is absolutely needed to facilitate activation of their hidden potentials, discovery of new sources and resources, and stimulation of their creative capacity. As we progressed through my presentation, we explored the cycle of success, a process that is not at all static! There will always be alternating periods of expansion and contraction, growth and stagnation, highs and lows, progress and setbacks. The key is learning how to navigate the cycles and maintaining momentum no matter what.

I ended my presentation by sharing on four (4) critical concepts that will serve to help one navigate through those seasons when things are definitely not at their best and that will work in tandem to secure good success:

1. Your Unique Design- Stick to it

2. Your  Philosophy- Clarify it

3. Your Plan of Action (POA)- Execute it

4. Your Environment- Preserve it

We all left at the end of the experience feeling well fed and fired up to fearlessly embrace our success. The fellowship we were afforded at the Conference as women was absolutely phenomenal. It was, indeed, a fabulous affair.
